Thinking about putting a 100/90-19 on the front of my GK, to quicken the steering
I just got a set of avon cobras on my GK. They are a good rounded cross section & a real nice tire. However, I'm thinking about going to a 100/90-19 roadrider, to reduce the gyro effect & quicken the steering. Any good technical opinions on that? The bike is great on the highway, but a little heavy handling around town.Tags: None

Don't know how much you will reduce gyro effect by changing tire model, unless you also change the size. I don't know if the GK uses a 110, but most of the other GSes use a 100.
Keep in mind that you have a big, HEAVY bike, there is not much you can do to quicken steering response.

apparently putting a smaller wheel on there will do that. my 1150 had a 16 inch, and gave a much snappier steering response than my 1100e with the 19. I don't know if there are any other variable in the example I just stated though ie steering angle etc. but I believe the smaller the diameter the quicker the response.
