painting inside of rear brake pistons?

Rear brake sticking on my 1980 gs550L.

Took them apart. Noticed rusting inside the "cup" side of the piston. Wondered if I could clean and then paint that side to prevent or slow down rusting in the future.
(I know you cannot paint the side that slides into the caliper)

To prevent rust, change your brake fluid every couple of years.

The only moisture possible in there is in the brake fluid, which needs to be changed every so often.

I think the OP is asking about the side of the piston the pad sits on Steve. If you want to paint them go ahead but use a high heat paint.

cant do any harm at all, but as said, use high temp paint as a precaution.

A little bird mentioned to me about using caliper paint. It's already designed to withstand the fluid and heat.

I actually use caliper paint to paint the engine and the carbs on my bikes.

Thanks for the replies. I think it is a good idea to use high temperature paint!
