GS750T Rear Shock Suggestions

    I'm still confused. Why did you have to compress the spring? The units are preassembled at Z1 based on the conversation you have with a Specialist. Should be plug and play (so to speak) install. Well worth the price if you can afford it.

      Uh Ed, when we installed your shocks, the springs weren't on them yet. You went to the restroom and when you got out I had already installed your springs remember lol. Your springs were a bit easier to install then mine were, I got the stiffer springs. didn't need a spring compressor. I just held the shock in a vise and grabbed the top of the spring and pulled down on the spring until I could slip in the retainer. It was that simple Cloudbreakmd lol.

      Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

        I ordered the HD springs as well. It's ok I bought the tool already. Pics to follow in my build thread.

          Bill,

          I went looking for a spring for my oil filter...remember? I forgot to bring it and had to fine a suitable sub till I got home and made the next oil change. Bathroom break...meh, I don't think so Batman!

            Sorry bud, I wasn't around to install my shocks cause Bill just has a hankering for working on these bikes. He even had a crime scene with the front forks on my "T" draining the fork oil. Nevermind.

            Oh my bad, I just knew you were gone for a bit lol. Don't forget I turned 60 since then LMAO.

              It's okay Bill. I think you were so excited to install them, you couldn't wait. I'm glad to oblige you with jobs to do on my bike....especially carb related. Remember you told me, the first time you'll do the carb removal, the second time is all me! I learned to do it because of you! Many thanks my friend.
