What diameter hose for brake bleeding on 1979 gd850g

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to kill the brake gremlins on the front brakes of my 1979 gs850g.

I refilled the master cylinder on the front, squeezed a bunch of times and got some pressure but I know it needs to be bled. What size hose should I buy to bleed the brakes with?

    Thanks

    Sean

I use clear 1/8" airline hose available at Lowes, Home Depot or a pet supply by the foot.

After you've pumped/bled repeatedly, if still soft, pump and put a bungee or zip tie on the lever holding it closed overnight. This is will help get the more air up out of the system. Turn the handlebars to the left so the master cylinder is at its highest possible spot.

Edit: it's a tight fit, you will need to squeeze the 1/8" tubing over the bleed nipple and if it's cold (like it is here) a little heat on the end of the tube will soften it up and allow it to slide over the nipple and still seal.
