Need some brake lines made
I need lines made and have been looking for the crimping tool used to install the ends.....anyone have any links to where to buy??? I would also consider paying a member to make some for me. Looking for just the regular rubber style lines for the KZ project bike.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Hey Chuck,
If going through the effort of making them why not go with braided lines? I can get you some at cost to fit any bike if you want.

Really would like to keep the bike as stock as possible Joe. Got the master cylinder rebuilt and couldnt draw any fluid. Loosened the banjo bolt up top and the suction gauge didnt budge. Took of the lines and they are clogged ( trying to "get by" on the ones that were on it ). Can I maybe email you some pictures Joe??? PM me.Last edited by chuck hahn; 04-01-2016, 11:31 PM.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I have heard they can make braided lines and then put a rubber cover on them to look like OEM lines...truth or fiction???MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

A friend just finished a GT750 and he sourced some reproduction rubber brake hoses for it. I thought it was a place in the southern US that sells other vintage parts, maybe Texas, I can't remember. He's away until early next week, I'll give him a call and find out when he's back.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/soates50/

SVSooke
They make black covered SS lines that will be skinnier than stock. You can do the heat shrink route to,neither will look exactly the same as the originals but will be WAY better and last longer to.

Found a full set of used ones on Ebay for cheap. Got them on the way just so I can get front brakes and be able to take it on a few short rides to shake it down once i get the sprockets, chain, and tires next week. The most criticial section is the steel tube and the hose to metal connector area. In the mean time, I will for sure finding a place to make them new and swap them later. Anyone with any other stock style line makers????Last edited by chuck hahn; 04-02-2016, 11:12 AM.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Supposedly theres a place in OKC that claims they can make them with the stock rubber if I bring the old ones in. We shall see.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Hey Chuck. Just got in touch with my buddy about those repro brake lines. Here's a link to their ebay store. I don't know how i missed that one but it looks like they've got lots of stuff. Didn't see anything for your 650 but the link is for the KZ750 and at least they give measurements for you to compare. I think they may even make stuff to order, you'll have to figure that one out yourself. Good luck.
