    Reassembling rear caliper - 82 GS1100E

Hi, first post here. Great source of info as I resurrect my GS1100E that's been sitting for about 5 years (or more).

Question. I'm rebuilding all of the brake components, including brake lines. When reassembling the split rear caliper, is there a recommended sealant to apply between the two halves? I'm replacing the round rubber seal, but I'd figure it would be a good idea to keep moisture out of that joint. I was going to put a light coating of brake grease between the two halves before bolting them back together. Any other recommendations?

Personally I use a thin coat of copper grease making sure it stays on the outside of the centre seal

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my rear brake caliper, found this thread on a search. Don't see any reason not to use copper sealant, nobody has chimed in to refute or give another opinion. I'm going to use it.
