Anyone have any input on yss shocks... for a 1981 gs750e ? I'm considering that brand and would appreiciate some imput... thanks Ray C.

I bought their rebound adjustable 302 shocks for my 86 SRX600 (Yamaha single cylinder street bike). They miscalculated the necessary spring rate for my bike so I had to order and pay for a stiffer set (he was insisting that the springs sent were correct, ignoring the mounting position and angle of the SRX shocks). Aside from that big mistake on their part, they're decent shocks. Build quality is good and they look nice on the bike. They're on the expensive side if you go for adjustability. No problems so far at 3 years, but only about 2000 miles as I split riding between several bikes. -

Depends on what spring rate you get of course. Mine rides well- comfortable- but still handles decently. I probably should have tried on more rate higher, but it jumps quite a bit from on rate to the next. Shocks do what they should. For my GS550, I went with Progressive Series 12 (I believe) with the HD spring option. That rides well too. Also have the Progressives on my 76 XS650 which is why I bought them for my GS. If I were to do it over, I might get Hagons or Ikons for the SRX as they would have been 20-25% less costly.Comment
