    1982 GS850L vs 1982 GS850G Front Wheel

    Hi,

Is there any difference between the front wheel of a 1982 GS850L and the front wheel of a 1982 GS850G? They look the same going off pictures, but I looked up the part numbers on some website and they list different part numbers between the two. I am looking for a front wheel for my 1982 GS850L and seen a fairly nice one that is listed for a 1982 GS850G but I hate to buy it to find out it is different. They sure look the same from the picture.

Please forgive me if this has been covered before but I couldn't find the answer searching through old posts.

The G wheel is 2.15" wide, presumably so the weight of a fairing can be more easily managed. The GL wheel is 1.85".

And evidently the width was increased for the '82 850G. My previous '81 850 and my son's '81 850 both had 1.85 rims on the front.

I switched rims with another member who wanted the older 'snowflake' wheels from the '81 and got his 2.15 rims from an '82 1100G.
