    GS250 wheels into GS250T

I am thinking is it possible to just slip a GS250 alloy rear into a GS250T as I want to have a bigger wheel in the back. Are the drum shoes interchangeable with either hub? Just looking for an easy and quick way to do this, as it's my daily work bike.

Has anyone tried this? If not will maybe get another GS250T 17" wheel and get it rebuilt into an 18"

    Thanks

It should be a straight swap, BUT, the brake you have will likely not fit the cast wheel. If you get the wheel and brake it should be easy. The cush drive sprocket carrier will also be different. IOW, you'll need the whole works between the swing arms to be sure.

I'll bet an 18" spoke wheel from a late '70's GS400 would also drop right in, and you can keep the brake etc as the hub 'should' be the same. They made that same basic hub for many sub 500cc bikes in the '70s. Way simpler and cheaper than relacing a 17".

    I'm running a '78 400 18" spoke wheel to replace the cast 17" that came with my '82 400T.
