I had to make one of these cheapie M/Cs work a while back, and after a few failures I did some testing with several samples of tubing from my stash dunked into brake fluid overnight. I ended up using a chunk of translucent yellow Tygon tubing normally used for fuel lines. In order to form the tight U-bend without kinking or collapsing the soft tubing, I pushed the Tygon tubing over a piece of copper 1/4" tubing and dipped it into boiling water for a minute. A quick dunk in cold water to cool, and the "U" shape was permanent.

Looks like they used fuel line, most of which is not compatible with brake fluid. Brake fluid is surprisingly damaging stuff to a lot of materials.

Ive always had tremendous success with RC51 (SP1) Honda units - very high quality, 19mm piston , cheap on eBay
