Gs850 for upgrade to Harris R1 forks

Hey all, I have just purchase a cheap bike for converting and tinkering with, once in the garage my mate pulled out a set of trick Harris R1 forks, that are about 1" shorter in length.
being shorter isn't an issue, but I have questions about the following..
the hole dia on clamps for wheel shaft are larger
the centre spigot yolks is different and would possibly require a special one off fabrication?
the fixings for callipers are not the same fore oem calipers! Should I try and use R1 calipers and try and modify originals?

this is my first ever bike build/mod and would really appreciate some guidance
    kind regards
    Arv

      Welcome to the site, Arv.
You MIGHT be able to get new bearings for your wheel that would accept the larger axle needed to fit the Harris forks.
I wouldn't bother with the GS wheel or calipers. Find a modern wheel and brakes that fit the forks and then concentrate on getting the steering stem sorted.
