GSX750ES : Stock size tire choices (16"er front tire)

I have a friend who had the GSX750ES in real-time during the mid 80'es and he told me to stick to stock tire sizes in order to get the most precise handling and steering accuracy.
I hope I'm wrong but ,based on a research I made, the front 16"er of the GSX750ES really limits the choices to Fred Flintstone rubber technology. That's a shame because I know Metzeler, being aware of the 80'es renaissance, developed this modern tire for our beloved classics : http://www.metzeler.com/site/us/en/p...portec-klassik
    Anyway...back to the GSX750ES...
    Stock tire sizes are:
    Front tire: 100/90-16
    Rear tire: 120/90-17
The only choice I could find was the Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 (exact specs seen below). As far as I can remember these tires provided ultimate technology and advanced performance back in the 80'es. Any experience or thoughts ?

Front tire: Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 100/90-16
Rear tire: Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 120/80-17

Yes the downside of the very short lived 16" front wheels is a lack of good tires.IMHO the 100/90-16 and 120/90-17 on the 83-6 750's where undersized and you can find better tires in the 110/90-16 and 130/90-17 sizes. They fit the rims quite easily and the extra width at the front may slow the steering a tad but is a fair trade IMO.
