Gsxr 600 rear shock conversion on gsx550

    Hi
I have a Gsx550 ´85 and the rear shock is worn and the adjustment dont work so I was looking to do a conversion to a newer gsxr 600 rear shock. I have searched the forum and found an old thread but most of the pictures does not work anymore. Does anyone have som pics of how they have done this convesion. I have a 1997 gsxr 600 rear shock for the project.

I used a Ducati monster rear shock on my GS750 ES - it was almost a straight fit if you get the right one but you need a lighter spring.

Not to hand.. it was a stock 1983 GS750ES - The shock is the M900 one from memory. All you need to do is add a couple of washers and massage the casting split line on the top eye to create clearance (hand file work fine, you only need to remove about 1mm). It's not very easy to adjust preload when it's buried in there...

        Believe it's this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ducati-Monst...hZLerE&vxp=mtr
