Was digging through a misc. box of parts and found a Daytona fork brace with no use sharpied on it(my filing system) . Fit up right on the gs. Pretty happy that had to look in that box today. Phone isn't uploading with try a photo of it tonight.Tags: None

I had an ATK fork brace on my bike when I bought it. What does it actually do? I understand it's designed to strengthen/ stabilize the fork, but what effect does it have on handling?

Keeps our spindly forks from flexing. Long forks, small diameter. By cutting the distance that is supported in half, they are less apt to flex/bend...Current Rides: 82 GS1100E, 00 Triumph 955 Speed Triple:twistedevil:, 03 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 01 Honda GL1800, '15 Kawasaki 1000 Versys

Is that noticeable while riding? If so, in what maneuvers/ speeds etc? I took off my ATK fork brace that came with the bike because I thought it might be a problem but found out my tire pressure was 16psi too low so I'm thinking about putting it back on. My '80GS850G didn't have one and I rode it for over 20 years and never noticed any front end issues. In fact, it was more stable than my newly acquired GS1000G....
