Gs850gl upper fork slides
Anyone know of a source for upper metal slides for an ‘83 GS850GL? Or other compatible models? It’s the leading axle type fork tube... the lower “piston” is shown and available, but the upper slide isn’t even shown in the parts diagram.-1980 GS1100 LT

Thanks for the feedback, but, unfortunately, neither place knew the height and thickness of that slider; so they couldn’t say if they had them or not. I’d have to remove the existing and measure; but I’m hesitant to bugger them up in the process. It looks like Suzuki used the same fork tube on all the 850, 1000, and 1100 L models from ‘80 thru ‘83 if that means anything to anyone...-1980 GS1100 LT

Apparently some are 10mm high, some are 15mm... thickness also can be either 2 or 2.5mm. I don’t know if the E forks used the same upper bushings as the L forks. I dunno, maybe I’ll just roll the dice and buy a set.-1980 GS1100 LT

Update.... the upper slide metals are the same as the 1100e and probably others with 37mm forks. I had approximately 40k on the forks that I replaced the “wear items” on. The old slides, upper and lower speced out exactly the same as the new ones I put in. Kind of a waste of time and money. Oh well.-1980 GS1100 LT
