    First tire change

So I installed a new front tire today for the first time. It wasn’t easy getting the 15 year old tire off but I managed with a bit of swearing and a lot of sweating. The new tire went on relatively easy. The balance beads, however, would not go down the valve stem no matter what I tried. I flicked the tube, used compressed air, used a vibrating power tool, all without success. So I finally just broke the bead and dumped them in directly. Lesson learned for the rear tire tomorrow.

Just curious, did you use the zip-tie method or do you have some tire spoons/tools?

So balance beads AND tubeless? Just one question. If tubeless and the tyre had balance dots on it, where did you position the dots compared to the rim?

I need a new front tire for my 82 gs750 and am assuming its tubeless. I was going to carry the wheel into the shop and have them remove and install the tire but I am starting some research to see if it is something i can just do myself.

Question ... does slime perform the same function as balancing beads?

Is the wheel marked tubeless? If not you may have a tube in there. What does the valve stem look like? As to changing the tire, yes it is absolutely something you can do yourself with a set of irons.

Slime automatically plugs small holes in a tire/tube. Balance beads balances the tire dynamically.
