I'm looking at the roll bar as a way to keep from getting pinned underneath if I dump it. There was someone here on the forum a week or two back showing a pic of his scrambler style exhaust on his. Like I'd mentioned, I'm still not quite convinced this will be a long term bike for me just yet. I'm not an agressive Rider and don't need a lot of power, it takes a lot more effort to bounce back from stupid mistakes at my age.

Can someone explain what a 'roll bar' is in terms of motorcycle use?

Some people call it a crash bar or engine guard.

We used to run around on Honda Trail 110's at work (surveying) 30+ years ago. Imagine the humiliation in a burly 6'4" 235lb biker kid that was built like an NFL tight end being pinned underneath in a weird position not able to lift it off. Not a proud day, I can laugh about it now.

Took longer than expected but here's my impression of the Kenda K761's. Not a bad street tire, keeping in mind that I'm not an agressive rider. Quite excellent on gravel and hard packed roads, terrible in loose sand. Haven't been out in the wet yet. For $100 I feel they're a decent choice, time will tell on the wear factor.

I'm back and bought the 712's. Came in a day or so but still not on yet.. The bike is a restore project I just started a thread over there. And I'm reading below about riding off road and getting pinned.... I was parking my 850 lb '84 Yamaha venture on a mountain at the edge of a dirt farm path with my gf and camping gear and she toppled over the stand and pinned my left foot beneath. I couldn't get it out alone and just took some weight off it using my right foot while a bunch of guys righted the bike. I kept my boot on till bedtime fearing what I might find and decided best to walk and drink it off. Riding home was very awkward and I didn't go to the doctor and I think permanent damage to the foot. I had to bind it with bandages and tape long after the injury.

Are you saying you made something like the motobike jack? If so would you mind sharing some pics and what parts you used, particularly for the shaft? i fancied some sort of extendible carbon fiber rod, but my searches were unsuccessful.

                          They can be.

If you have tubeless wheels, then they're tubeless. If you have wheels that require a tube, then stick a tube in. It's fine -- the tire is clearly marked "TUBELESS ON TUBE RIM FIT TUBE" or something like that.

In other words, tubeless tires can be mounted with or without tubes; it's up to the wheel, not the tire.

That said, there are some tires designed to only be used with tubes. These days that's usually limited to dirt tires or a few vintage tires. In these cases, you have to use a tube no matter what kind of wheel you have. These sorts of tires are marked "TUBE TYPE". The difference is the tire beads aren't specifically designed to seal air and usually aren't quite as tight against the rim.
