Anybody use a low profile front master cylinder?

    I have an 82 gs1100 GK
I have made a lot of changes and it's getting REALLY close to what I'm envisioning her being.
My front master cylinder sits WAY too high.
Anybody running a lower profile front master cylinder on their GS?
If so, what are you using? Any problems with it?
    Thanks :]

I have seen a picture of your bike. I can't imagine how the stock m/c could be considered "WAY too high".

About the only way you are going to get anything with a lower profile would be to get something from a newer GSX-R or Ninja-style bike that has a remote reservoir.

For those who might be wondering, his "GK" is SERIOUSLY "de-K'd".

Steve, it's all about the angle. it looked fine in that pic I sent you. But this pic as an example, shows a nice line that flows across the bars that is only broken by the gauges and the master cylinder. Once the gauges come off in a couple weeks, the master cylinder will seem to stick out even more.

The stock master uses a 5/8" bore and you can use any master of that size (or 16mm instead).

The EX650 master cylinder angles downward the way you like. They are not super "low profile" though...

I use that EX650 one... I think I have a similar remote reservoir one on a shelf somewhere that I could be persuaded to part with. You could do something somewhat like this (Saw a special at a show with something similar on the front but can't find a pic now):

          1980 GS1000G - Sold
          1978 GS1000E - Finished!
          1980 GS550E - Fixed & given to a friend
          1983 GS750ES Special - Sold
          2009 KLR 650 - Sold - gone to TX!
          1982 GS1100G - Rebuilt and finished. - Sold
2009 TE610 - Dual Sporting around dreaming of Dakar..... - FOR SALE!

I have a similar, yet nowhere near that clean, setup on the rear of mine. If you decide to get rid of that remote resevoir master cyl, please let me know how much persuasion it would take :]
              Thanks :]

I'll take a look at it. I think it's still in a sealed system. I've had it in the warm & dry for about 8 years at a guess.

It was a nearly new take-off from a guy who upgraded his ninja to a system off a bigger model from memory.... Kept because I was going to use the set for something & then never did!!
