Squishy, weak front brake 78 GS550
When I got my 78GS550 I replaced the master cylinder as the original one was properly dead. I checked the pads which seemed fine. Filled the new master cylinder and bleed it properly. But the brakes still seem super weak and squishy. I believe the blake line is old and will replace it with a new braided line. As ive read the original lines can be an issue with these bikes.. Will this make a big difference? Or is there some sort of modern brake kit I can get for my bike. I would very much love to stop with confidence.Tags: None

Does the new master have a 14mm plunger? If it's smaller you will get a spongy hand lever.
A new brake line will help. You should pop out the caliper piston and clean out any sludge too if you haven't already done so.Ed
To measure is to know.
