    1985 gs1100g fork oil

    Hello , I have just bought a 1985 gs1100g and cannot find fork oil weight and quantity ,could anyone please advise , thanks ,sidman

    Most people use 15w... don’t worry as much about quantity as much as level from the top of the fork tube while it’s fully compressed with the springs removed. I forget the spec offhand... someone probably will chime in.

      Stock oil from Suzuki was 10wt I think, check a repair manual to be sure. As Tom said, a lot of people up that to a 15wt for slightly stiffer ride. I remember for the 850 the quantity going by book value was 251 ml if everything is stock, not sure if the 1100g shares the same shocks. Again, look it up in your repair manual to be sure.
