Difference in 110/80/18 vs 100/90/18
Need front tire on "91" GSX1100G. It has, & orig. was, a 110/80/18, I have a new 100/90/18 in the garage. Will the 100/90/18 look too "skinny" under the front fender? Don't think anyone, including me, would notice, but don't want to get it mounted then wish I hadn't.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. Can't believe you put up the link to tacomaworld, that's where I looked up the differences in sizes. Wish they had pictures showing comparison of width, like they show from the side. Less than 1/4" on both sides shouldn't be too noticeable1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100

In general, the theory is the same, but if you were to take examples of 100/90-19 tires from 10 different manufacturers, you will likely find at least half of them are not 100mm wide and/or will not have a 90% aspect ratio. That would give them a different rolling radius, too, which would affect your speedometer accuracy.

I can't find any specs, but the front wheel intended for the 110/80-18 is significantly wider than the wheel intended for a 100/90-18. So the tire profile will be sort of stretched into a weird shape.
Will it mount up? Sure.
Will you die immediately? No.
Will it look different? A little.
Will it handle differently? Absolutely.
Will it handle better? Nope.
Will it handle worse? Yep.
Will the money saved be worth putting up with weird handling for a few thousand miles? Most likely not, but I don't know you and there are some astoundingly cheap riders hereabouts. Maybe if you're one of them.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
