All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Possum Lodge Prevails!

American Airlines has just made the theme of one of Canada's best TV comedies a real-life event! The Red Green Show from Possum Lodge brought laughs to many, with its theme of doing anything with duct tape. Thanks to AA, there is now real-life proof that they were right! See for yourself...

14 hundred and 92, Columbus never made it through

I had never heard of her or the book, but it does look interesting Not a short read though, as it runs 793 pages A Harvard reviewer offers this comment: “Astounding… [Lepore] has assembled evidence of an America that was better than some thought, worse than almost anyone imagined, and...

    Dolly Parton is gone...

Some of us get blessed with great memories. This man surely did. Going back a few years there was a man I knew who was affectionately called "Harry The Hat". Harry worked for American Airlines as a ramp-runner at Toronto Airport. At that time the Skyline Hotel to the east of the airport had a...

14 hundred and 92, Columbus never made it through

Apparently this is true. Historians...see link....confirm Christopher Columbus did reach Bahamas, and later various Caribbean islands, but he never once landed in what is now USA mainland. https://www.biography.com/history-culture/a71694004/christopher-columbus-history-facts

    Double Whammy

Funny moment recalled: My (now ex-) wife and I were in Mexico when a 6.0 quake came along. She was angry with me for not being there to protect her as the vibrations caused her and her chair on the hotel balcony to move a bit toward the railing Contrasting that, I felt nothing at all. At the...

    Brain Damage And Rescue Vessels

I have a close friend who has been a volunteer on Toronto's rescue boats for years. They are much smaller than 47s and are definitely not as capable. Of course, they are on Lake Ontario and while the Lake certainly does get heavy weather and high waves at times....20 feet is not unknown...

    Marketplace buyers beware

I just did a blank search for Epson 822 ink cartridges. A Bestbuy.ca link came up , but instead of going to Bestbuy's own listing selections it directed me straight to one of their marketplace sellers. The Bestbuy marketplace seller wants CA$354.99 and their site says this is a saving of...

    e-bike commuting

I had not heard of this lock until now, but have learned that most bike locks will not deter a professional thief Example: Motorcycles can get pulled or tossed onto the back of a truck and be gone in less than two minutes.. and the toughest of locks get taken off later on with a hot wrench...

Why postal service in Canada is dying

Your advice is appreciated, Garth I did not pay anything online.. and your comment about screw-ups is getting obvious as the original suggestion of one to ten business days is more a reality every day. Their track system just added another day Expected delivery Wednesday, Aug. 5, 11 am to 3 pm

Why postal service in Canada is dying

Thanks again, Garth. For more tabout 15 years I could go to a nearby convenience store run by a Korean family in a small plaza. Three years ago CP told them they had to expand or CP would stop doing business with them. They had no room for expansion and lost the postal business. It was their...

Why postal service in Canada is dying

Thanks Garth. Their website told me that, too. Apparently there is a moment when you can pay online, but once they assign a delivery it has to be paid in person. I have not had to pay anything to Canada Post for years so I am not sure where they would send it. The nearest post office that I...
