A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Pic of the week game

I was addressing an oil leak and somehow misplaced a gallon of Rotella in my garage. Maybe I used it, who knows. Anyway, I'll use an older pic for an example and maybe try for a new one later on. This week's challenge, or theme, Perspective. Interperet as you will. Eyes by Roger, on Flickr

Awesome! Thanks guys. It hasn't rained here in so long, the Rio Grande looks like a dirt road in places. Come on El Niño!!! I'll grab some coffee and a pic for the new theme.

I like the pics that captured the raindrops in the air. Two in particular did that best, I think, Redman's and Trevor's. Redman for me.

    Engine oil problem

Switching over to reserve while riding, I accidentally switched to prime. Didn't stop to refuel and parked it overnight. Same deal, gas kept flowing and it filled at least one cylinder along with the crank case. Before realizing it I tried to start it and the engine promptly locked. Guess the...

20250928_202722 by Roger, on Flickr Figured I'd post a pic instead of a single frame from a video like I initially had here. Just didn't feel right. I really had fun trying to catch a shot of lightning that night.

My son got a new (to him) bike

Congrats to your son, @trevor Do you remember the Super Duke R winning the Pike's Peak Hill Climb a few years ago? He's gonna love it, I'm sure. That's exactly how I got my credit established. Just out of high school, I fell in love with a used 81 850G. This was in 1990 and I was 17 years old...

    First Road Crash

Aw, crap, Rich! Thanks for sharing this. Glad the damage was minimal. That lip was just laying in wait for a lone two wheel traveler to lay down and kiss it. Sorry it had to be you. Fresh black asphalt, fading light, that could happen to any of us.

    Hello from Scotland

Welcome, @Ian Matthew That's a beauty! Doesn't look like the 1982 models we got here. Different seat, tank, side covers, air box, and a few other bits.

For some reason, Eli's pic stayed expanded even after closing the forum and coming back when none of the others did. @Eli69 what photo hosting site are you using? Maybe that's why.

    Pic of the week game

The ignition relay made a huge difference in starting. It can sit for months and after priming the carbs for 10 seconds, the starter spins for two seconds and it fires up. It was never that easy to start before the relay. (Ignore the blue RTV sealant on the coils. I replaced the wires and had...

You're not wrong. Removing that fairing made an incredible difference in how it handles. We're talking 0 to 60 in under 30 seconds now! :p
