    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I had never heard of the cassowary. I'd shyte myself coming around a corner and seeing a six foot tall bird in my lane.

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta happens every october. It's been said that this is the most photographed event in the world. If you're anywhere near here in the first week of October, I highly recommend checking it out. Hundreds of balloons just floating overhead, depending on the...

    Rear rotor for '79 GS850G

The minimum thickness should be stamped on it and or written in the manual. I think it's 6mm I have one, will dig it out and measure it to be sure it's ok. I sent a set to https://truedisk.net/ They did a fantastic job machining my rotors.

Old GSR items I came across

I found the PM thread with a guy that printed some of those stickers. @zerospirit was his username. He's showing up as guest now, but I still have an email address, for what it's worth.

How strict was school back in the day?

Alamagordo, New Mexico, third grade, 1981 was far more strict than today's schools. Smacking another kid with a metal lunchbox got me sent to the principle's office and three whacks with the paddle. Also, suspended for the rest of the week and three more lashes with the belt at home. Lesson...

Old GSR items I came across

How cool! Maybe five or six years ago someone produced a batch of stickers. I have a few laying around somewhere. I like to throw them in the box when sending things to other members IF I remember to AND can find them, that is haha. I asked my long term memory, I mean my wife, where they are the...

I found NOS points cover and emblem and gasket

Nice! 👍 If you don't want to scrape, a little lacquer thinner on a tight weave T-shirt like rag easily wipes off the wet paint. The raised letters make yours ideal for that approach. These letters are recessed so masking as close to them as possible minimized cleanup down to a few spots...

    1983 GS750T Project or Parts

Not a lot of love out there for the "T" I suppose. I remember seeing this GS in, I think, Espanola a few years ago. There can't be that many "T" 's in the Land of Enchantment anymore. Hope you find someone that appreciates it. If not, one good thing is, parts are easier to salvage from bikes...

Thanks! Bias? I was thinking, oh, both bikes in my pic are shafties, maybe that's it? Then realized there were four Kats in this week's game. Tough competition haha. Yep, that's Adam. Our first motocamping trip.

    reserve at 1/2 tank?

The stock petcock must be easier to judge mileage before and after hitting reserve. Sounds like the K&L has a taller inlet. (Edit- nevermind, see that's already been mentioned by @rphillips ..) I like the float adjustment method Chuck mentioned. Think I'll give that a try when I get around to...

what did you wrench on today??

Sweet! Then we'll have twice as many GS's on the local roads, LOL. For some reason they've all been in hiding around here. You just don't see them around anymore. One member listed a "T" for sale up north in Farmington, other than that one it's been years since even a local-ish GS sighting, by...
