A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Please help with 1982 GS1000G

It's hard to tell from the picture but it could be the gear position indicator switch. I can see Allen screws holding it on so someone has been in there already. That's an o-ring so yes no big deal. To be fair, it could also be running down from higher up, a seal from the bevel box, which is...

    Please help with 1982 GS1000G

I'm in Switzerland, pretty much in the middle of Europe. These bikes are pretty rare in Europe. There are probably about 5 for sale at any one time on this continent and distance shopping cost can be very significant. For a running bike, that's a good price. If you're looking and are serious...

    Please help with 1982 GS1000G

Those are Kms, not miles, so just under 50k miles. At this age, condition/evidence of care is probably more important.

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

I'm sort of new to the forum (used to be a member years ago but lapsed/deleted) and have just read this thread from there start. So sorry to hear about your accident. Recovery takes ever longer, I've noticed, as the miles pile up on my personal clock. I had a minor spill (c. 20km/h, gravel on a...

GS1100G 1984 wiring subharness in headlight bucket

Hi all, I've recently acquired a dead/abandoned GS1100G. It's got a strange rattle can and brush paint job but looks fundamentally sound. Not much wrong with it beyond surface corrosion and grime. I was told it has electrical problems owing to a previous owner having caused a short circuit...

Bonjour Marc, I'm afraid my French brain is not working this morning. Sorry. I can only think of a problem in the section of loom that goes from the connector for the instruments to the female bullet connector for your front left indicator. This is because you say the left indicator warning...

    clignotants

Bonjour Marc, I'm guessing there's a problem with the left front indicator itself, probably open circuit in the wire that goes into the indicator body through the indicator stem. If you disconnect the power feed to this indicator, jumping it with a flying lead to the battery, or using a separate...

Translation of the Google translations: "Mass of the cligno" = ground of the indicator "Grandma will not pass the CT" = this dear old bike won't pass inspection/MOT/MFK/TÜV "Im losing my Latin" = not sure ... ability to speak?
