DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Upper fork tree misaligned, adjustable, fixable?

Bummer, my 1100G fell over and partly off trailer on a left turn. Front end was tied down and when the bike fell over the opposing forces wrenched the forks and tree. Looks like the fork tubes are straight, it's the steering heads that took the stress, the upper and lower stems are misaligned...

Spoiler Alert: MotoGP (or any other race) thread for immediate disscussion of races.

2018 I was at Autobahn Country Club, IL, in 2020 at Grattan Raceway, MI. It was at Grattan where I soaked my helmet. At least at Grattan I was topping off at 140mph on their 3,000' straight. Not bad for a 30 yo oil cooler.

I did a couple 4th 'o July track days. Just way too hot. Middle of the day, almost nobody was on the track. I poured water into my helmet, soaked the liner and put it on. Water was beading up on the inside of my screen with rivulets runny down. Hilarious. No interest in doing a July track day again.

what did you wrench on today??

Excellent video, amazing build. Did not like his method of putting a saw blade on a grinder, no thank you.

what did you wrench on today??

I bought a MagTorch kit and some US Forge self fluxing 1/8" aluminum rods. Did the job but no regulators, so flame changed as tank pressure dropped. I like brazing and think it's worth getting a light duty gas welding kit with regulators. Lot of things could be gas brazed easier, than electric...

what did you wrench on today??

Not so bad, luggage rack bruised my left calf as the bike slid away. That swelled up for a week. Bike is ok, just the stator cover had a tiny hole. Brazed that shut. So lucky a good friend drove down with a trailer. took me home.

MotoAmerica Superbike race, Road America This is the best Midwestern track north of Barber Motorsport Park. It's been looking worn out, but they just got a new surfacing. Looks awesome smooth, for USA. Warning: lot of promo and gabby on the mic. I had a better viewing experience after killing...

I need to move my 1100G foot pegs back 4". Riding over dipsy doodles, I need my feet under my butt. I can visualize most of the mods except shifter is a problem. Anybody wanna share their own homie fabrications?

    Pirelli tire bead issue

About that molding skirt edge. I think it's there to air seal the tire carcass. Probably a bad idea to grind it off. If that's the case, the damn tire bead was too small.

    Pirelli tire bead issue

To me it looked like the tire diameter was too tight, with some molding skirt. Thought of sanding that skirt off. I scrubbed the rim with steel wool, maybe I should have sanded to a polish? meh… Will keep the tire and try it again after the Shinko is done. Not impressed with the Sport Demon...
