A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Significant setback for self-driving vehicles

Telsas are not considered fully self driving cars and never have been. There in lays the problem of people thinking they are. Sorry, it’s a fact, not a left wing conspiracy.

    Anti freeze and boots.

If you have patience, lots of patience, I used Simonized Vinyl Protectant. Only problem was it took about 3 - 4 months over a winter. This was about 20 years ago and mine where deformed and hard as a rock. I assembled the carbs, airbox and cylinder boots on the workbench and over the winter as...

I think what's probably on the back of the PC are actually Display Port not HDMI. You'll need a Display Port to HDMI cable. Pretty common. Full size Display Port, not mini Display Port.

    Did Europe have a 1988 GSX1100es?

Yes it is an 83, also in the super rare black and red. I've only ever seen one that colour and that was in the local dealer showroom. There could be some confusion in the fact that what we called the 1150 here was still labeled 1100 in Europe and yes they has the E model as well as ES and EF but...

    Computer Help

If the picture of your computer is correct on the front the USB port that is blue is the USB 3.1, the one below it is the USB C, and the one beside it would be a USB 2.0 and the below that is a USB (probably 2.0) also with Powershare. You can tell by the extra little symbol on it.

Probably not except if you have a port that is always powered up for USB device charging. They're usually on the front though.

I've alway done full reloads but then I usually have media at hand and you don't need to sit around for most of the process. That being said the reset process looks like the easiest way to do it. Never used it so forgot about it. LOL.

Yes, good. Microsoft stopped supporting rtf files in notepad with Windows 11 so it displays all the rtf formatting.

    Wheel Builders

I did it over period of a couple of weeks a bit at a time. I had NOS OEM spoke sets for both wheels and disassembled them, polished the rims and hubs but reassembly and trueing probably only took 1 - 1 1/2 hours. For torquing the spokes I did it by ear. A trick a friend that built multiple sets...

    Wheel Builders

I did my GS wheels a couple of years ago and never having done wheels before was intimidated at first but it turned out to be pretty easy. Take pictures of the spoke pattern before you start as well as measurements for wheel offset from the hub to get it centered properly. Easier than a bicycle...

Unless there is stuff on your old computer you want your friend to have I would just do a fresh install when you're done. You can download the "mediacreationtool.exe" from Microsoft, create a bootable ISO or USB and if it's already a legit version it will just auto register the key. Odd that it...

If you're this close to upgrading wouldn't bother updating the virus definitions. I would pull that AMD video card out though unless you are giving your computer to someone else to use and there's no onboard video. Good choice on going with a refurb unit. These are usually commercial grade lease return computers and much more robust in build than the usual consumer grade stuff you find out there. I just upgraded my desktop with an HP ProDesktop with pretty much the same specs as thie Dell you're looking...
