A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    RFY shocks.

I have read several reviews on the RFY shocks and they all seem positive. I found a couple of complaints about the clevises breaking but most seemed to think its because they fit too tight and people damage them putting them on that way and if you grind a little off first theres no problems...

I don't think I've ever seen black ones? You might look into getting a kit from dynojet. They show up on eBay from time to time pretty cheap.

Factory Pro sells them separate I believe, and on many of the Dynojet kits they come with new tubes and needles. You cant use their tubes with the stock needles either as they use larger diameter tubes and needles.

I haven't read all the posts on is, but did you check the emulsion tubes? They are known for wearing out pretty fast on those carbs.

    I'm an idiot

It sounds like your battery may have been bad to begin with by the fact you were jump starting it, or maybe it wasn't charging to begin with and that's why the battery was dead to begin with? So maybe youre no worse off than when you started. Or maybe Im just a raving optimist this morning...

    GS1150 / GS1100 head swap

Youre right, I hadn't considered which way he was going with the swap. Most go to the 1150 head for a little boost in performance.

    GS1150 / GS1100 head swap

You'll need 1150 studs and valve cover (and gasket). You'll also lose your mechanical tachometer drive.

    GSX1100G rake fix?

Maybe find someone to machine offset bearing carriers to fit in the head, then use a smaller OD bearing that would fit inside of them?

    Reservoir holes (front brake)

I read somewhere that that figure can actually be low... on many late model sport bikes the are capable of "stoppies" (braking so well that the rear tire comes off the ground) in that instance the front brakes are 100% of the vehicle's stopping power. Just food for thought. Regardless, front...

My vote is for Down's pics. I spend allot of time in that area on atv's and it is beautiful. It also takes allot of cahunas to ride a fully loaded bike down some of those trails.

Wow, its a tough call.... I know the bikes in the hotel aren't supposed to count but its a toss up between those and the bike in church.

    Aftermarket Main jets

Ive seen the RD ones before they are an aftermarket. I try to always use the genuine Mikuni or Keihin (depending on what carbs Im working on) as Ive heard stories of the aftermarket ones not metering accurately.
