A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Brake Noise Tapping

I figured I'd pull the caliper off, clean everything, check the "springs" and pins, and make sure the pistons are clean and move free. I've got an extra set of parts calipers I can get parts from if I need to. They work fine, its more of an annoyance than anything.

    Brake Noise Tapping

Ive got 87 GSXR 750 front rim/fork/brakes on my GS, and they work great, but yesterday I noticed an odd tapping noise coming from my front end while driving below about 15mph. After I got home I put it up on a jack and spun the front wheel and the tapping is coming from the right side brake...

Suzuki Clutch Cable vs Motion Pro - Stick with Suzuki

I don't recall what I paid for the Motion Pro (I was thinking $18-$20), but I paid $22.49 for the Suzuki cable from a seller on Ebay. The online prices are a little lower but cost freight.

    Oil Burning on Idle

Could you have spilled a little oil when you filled it? It would probably have made its way down there.

Suzuki Clutch Cable vs Motion Pro - Stick with Suzuki

I just wanted to share my experience over the weekend. My clutch hasn't felt smooth in a long time and I couldn't get it adjusted enough to feel like it was fully disengaging when the freeplay was correct. A few months ago I installed a new Motion Pro cable, but it didn't make any difference...

GS1100E- For guys using pods... valve cover breather filter ideas?

This is a good idea. Or you could just have put a barb fitting on that cover over the sprocket and had an automatic chain oiler. I ran a hose with a K&N style filter out to the swing arm area.

    Complicated PETCOCK Question regarding .... 80-81 gs1100e

I might have a stock 82/83 petcock and I think I have a Pingel w/an adapter in my spare 82 tank. You are welcome to both of them and see if you can make one will work. I haven't looked at the Pingel to see if it has the Reserve function.

What's the easiest way to check swingarm bushings?

I got them replaced this weekend. Not too hard... just time consuming. It was 102 degrees outside under the carport, so I took a few breaks.

    BST36SS Fuel Tees ?

Ive got a set of BST36SS ("slingshot" GSXR 750 Carbs- 1988) on my GS. I notice a small leak from one of the fuel tees. They are plastic an have ridges built on them instead of O-rings. Is there anyplace can buy new tees? Id prefer metal ones with O-rings, but will take whatever I can get...

Kickstand caused collar bone injury, and my recovery

I have been following this and I sure hope you heal up real soon. I've ridden off with the stand down too but, thankfully was never hurt. As for a safety switch on the kickstand, mine has a light that I pretty much seemed to overlook. My opinion is that mine seems to have about 50 various...

    Help me make a decision! '76 GS750

I think the "caf?" thing has gotten out of hand and means so many things to everyone. Personally, if I was going to build something like a Caf? bike, it would be based on twin cylinder bike. It fits the sound and feel of the era of that style of bike.

    Oil cooler on gs' ?

I had a little Derale cooler on mine, but like Chuck, Ive driven around in 95+ degree temps here in Texas and the gauge usually didn't get much higher than 1/2 way (220-230 degrees?). Its such a small cooler that I cant imagine it made much difference. My engine is stock internally, and would...

    Solid Core Plug Wires

Thanks for the input guys. Its got a new ignition switch, I had to buy one when I swapped the GSXR forks. I also cleaned all the connectors and fuses and dielectric greased everything, but I didn't check or clean the connectors coming from the fuse box. I'll try that this weekend. Otherwise...

    Solid Core Plug Wires

Just an update. The new wires didn't solve the problem I having with my #3 cylinder fouling plugs after a few minutes... and #2 missing intermittently, so I decided to some testing. Ive only got 9.35 volts to the coils (12.1-12.2 at the battery w/key turned on...slightly higher with key...

    Hot Weather Riding 90?+

I don't know my limit, but I rode my wife's 250 in to work today so could get it inspected at lunch and the weatherbug app on my phone says "96 degrees and 41% humidity". It'll be a hot ride home in traffic.
