A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Pic of the week game

I'm voting for Redman this week. Great pic!

    Solid Core Plug Wires

I'd think itd be harder on coils trying to discharge though a really high (bad) spark plug wire than one with little resistance? However, the real resistance Id have to guess comes from the gap at the spark plug. Theres allot of resistance to jump .025". Oh, and I was reading my meter...

    Solid Core Plug Wires

Ok, I was concerned electrical interference interfering with the electronics on the bike. I didn't want to trade one problem for another.

    Craigslist "funnies"

Looks like something from a horror movie by John "Carpenter"....

    HD, 883 sporster (with built1200), vs my 81 gs750(1166)?

My experience with these things, is a large engine bike (or car) is allot easier to get a good start from a stoplight or a roll. A sport bike like a 600cc inline four, has to launch at some ridiculous high rpm to stay in its "power band", so setting at a light requires him to hold that rpm...

    Solid Core Plug Wires

Ive got a couple bad plug wires and need to replace them. Right now it has Accel coils and Accel 10.5 RFI suppression wires without resistor caps but a couple are showing over 10 ohms resistance (one over 12 ohms). I want to replace them with some solid core wires. Can I run them without...

Stainless steel brake line conversion concerns

Ive got 86/87 GSXR 1100 front end on my GS1100, with pretty nice size GSXR brakes and it wouldn't "endo" or "stoppie" short of hitting a curb or riding into a ditch - lol. It will lock up pretty easy though. Our GS's are long and heavy bikes.

    GSXR 86-88 Fork Extensions

lol... I have already hit the headers when I had pulled the tubes trough the trees far enough to clamp the bars on above the tree, but it was comfortable to ride. It also caused my fender to hit my oil cooler on larger bumps (not really safe). I've got Apex clip on bars with a 4" riser post...

    GSXR 86-88 Fork Extensions

I added 1986 GSXR1100 forks and wheel to my GS1100E a few years ago, but most of you know they are shorter than the stock forks, so when they are installed close to the correct height, the clamp on bars have to be mounted under the upper tree. That leaves me in a pretty bent over riding...

What's the easiest way to check swingarm bushings?

I checked yesterday and it feels like they are beyond wore out. I guess I know what my next project is going to be.

    Pic of the week game

My vote goes to Redman this time. Not the clearest pic, but certainly a good one.

I guess my next question is, how hard are they to replace?

I thought riding in AZ heat was a biatch!!

All three of my cars have hitches (even though the manual says not to tow with my two Scions). They are really handy to have when you need one for the occasional tow.

What's the easiest way to check swingarm bushings?

Thanks! I no longer have the center stand, but I have atv jack that I can lift it with to check. You guys are a big help. Of course if I find out that they are in good shape, it probably confirms I'm just a wuss about cornering...

What's the easiest way to check swingarm bushings?

I was driving around the back roads yesterday practicing my cornering skills (or lack thereof) and while leaning pretty good into a nice sweeping corner I hit a little bump in the road and it gave me a rather unsettling feeling. Granted, this could be perfectly normal as I'm not usually a very...

    Who's the man

I just put a Caltric stator in my GS a few weeks ago. Bolted right in and works great but I have no idea how long it'll last as Ive only put a couple hundred miles on it so far.
