A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am toying with the idea of repairing and repainting my tank, and in order to only have to do the tank, I need to source the right color pin striping. I do not want to buy one of those kits that includes the white stripe...I want to paint that on. (the one I have now did not adhere right and...

Then they would not be adjustable at all... and every once in a while it is handy to be able to change the viewing angle.

Looking for new mirrors --- need 130 mph mirrors

Yes I know, I am working on that as we speak. Seriously, I guess an OEM mirror should do the trick right?

Looking for new mirrors --- need 130 mph mirrors

Gee even if I could find one that didnt twist out of position at 100mph would be fine. Mine seem to get screwed up before I hit 80.

Looking for new mirrors --- need 130 mph mirrors

I have a gs1100e, but it is frankensteined to look like a gs1000 skunk. I just bought some cheap round black mirrors off of ebay that I liked the look of, but when I got them I found they have plastic backs and joints. They wont stay put at high speeds. Does anyone have a recommendation for...

    1150 transmission question...

Youre a smart man TxGSrider. Sounds like a plan. Thats going to be like a new engine when you get it put back together.

    1150 transmission question...

I guess no one knows the answer eh? To me the little cut outs look machined, but as you pointed out...it is also where the cogs would meet.

    1150 transmission question...

We're working on a GS1150 and while its apart we wanted to be sure everything was ok before putting it back together. We noticed this "dog" looked worn... or maybe its supposted to look like this... maybe someone can look at these pics and let me know if they look ok. Also, is there anything...

Thanks guys. This may be a good engine to buy (if cheap enough) and fix up to sit waiting for if ever my stock enginine detonates.

    Is a 1988 gsx1100 engine a direct drop in for 1100e frame?

I got a lead on an 1988 1100 engine and wondering if it is a direct bolt in for the 82 1100e? It looks like it has more power on demand so I was just curious.

Sounds Craxy... Carb boots gs1100e can they be shorter? And if so where to order?

Nope, my frame is different. It is really an 1100e bike with gs1000 tank sideplates, seat and tailpiece whiich I had to cut off 1100e connectors and weld on the gs1000 connectors. The original tank on an 1100e has 2 attachement bolt holes in a different place on the frame. The bracket I...

Sounds Craxy... Carb boots gs1100e can they be shorter? And if so where to order?

Thank you I appeciate the input... i was afraid it was a longshot. The bad part is that I already welded the tank bolt bracket where it is.... (78 tank mounts differently) and in restrospect about 1/2 too low...so I was looking for another option other than welding on the bike again because i...

Sounds Craxy... Carb boots gs1100e can they be shorter? And if so where to order?

I know this sounds like a nutty question but I have a gs1100e that I frankensteined into a gs1000 body work. The only issue I have had is that the petcock sits right down on the #1 carb and I had to vut the handle shorter to use it. Anyway, now that I have switched to pods I was looking at...
