A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

I am based on the Netherlands. The project to follow is my GS500e 1989 OEM+ build right now. My dream build will be another 2 years or so before I can really focus on it. The plan is a super lightweight Gs450 frame with a gs400 bottom end. Through a combination of parts and custom parts I want...

Stock 1100 cams, stock rockers, Ape springs...will it last?

Hard to say, the increased valve tension will increase pressure buildup in the oil film. How about using stock valve springs and keeping the rpms lower than desired? Stock valves with stock cam you'll know for sure the oil film pressure won't be too high. If you don't have the money for cams...

    Gsxr750 head on a GS500e

Ik wish I had photos, would love to show here. I'm working on it! I'm collecting as much knowledge as I can for when I have finally finished all distraction from starting on my dream project. Currently thinking about how to build a 725cc gs400.

    Gsxr750 head on a GS500e

I'm not debating whether it is a well known mod or not. I'm trying to contact Bob directly but the email adres I found is dead, he last logged in somewhere around 2014 I believe...so easier said than done. Just hoping some people from back then are still active and can comment on this.

    Gsxr750 head on a GS500e

I've utilized AI to collect every single post from Bob Broussard, and have an archive of what was written on the net, below is an overview of what I now know: Now I am trying to find as much as I can on Cedric Smith's bike, he had a 650cc GS twin with a billet crank.

    Gsxr750 head on a GS500e

You would, ofcourse, cut the outer 2 off and create end-caps for the head. Maybe not well known, but definitely done by multiple people, Bob Broussard was the most well known. In an effort to find sources on this to show you, I found a post by Bob himself detailing a lot of what he did on...

Thoughts about the website in general

I was thinking since both of those websites are very close to the topic of GS's they wouldn't muddy the information too much. With increased members maybe the ads wouldn't be necessary. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer the website to stay as it is as well. But since Frank wrote somewhere he will...

    Gsxr750 head on a GS500e

Just out of curiosity, back in the day, when this used to be a more well known modification, how was the camshaft situation sorted? Since the inner two pistons are phased differently as the GS500 twin piston. You cannot simple use the gsxr750 camshafts. Was it possible to modify the 750 head...

    Poor Man's Air Restrictors

I've always held the believe that the CV carbs are sensitive to turbulence, which the pods create aplenty. Not to get too technical about the aerodynamics but basically the turbulence will create lower pressure on the outside perimeter of the carburettor ID vs the inside (core) of the airflow...

Thoughts about the website in general

Maybe I'm naive, or this is for some other reason a dumb thing to say, but what about migrating with other forums? There is oldskoolsuzuki.info and gstwins.com. Both of which, I can imagine, are struggling as well. I understand this requires substantial organization, and the migration of data...

    GS500E rebuild, 1989 style

Yes, they will be replaced, they are bad. It's a known weak spot on the 500's, otherwise the plain bearings seem to be sufficient. I've just replaced a rod bearing on another GS500 of mine, happy it wasn't a roller bearings as that would warrant taking the crankshaft apart. I work in the...

    GS500E rebuild, 1989 style

What are you referring to? I like the roller cranks better as well, but with the 500's, plain bearings will have to do.

    GS500E rebuild, 1989 style

Thanks for the story! must be a bad shop if they don't claim responsibility after a breakdown on the way home from their shop. GS500e OEM headlight fearing brackets.

I believe these brackets are USA model only, EU model has different style brackets (more like tabs). In the Suzuki catalogue its called: BRACE, UPPER COWLING pn: 94510-01D50 Edit: apparently the same PN was used on the VX800 as well.
