A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Fuel inlet needle valve seat.

Thanks for all the help. I'll let it soak with some penetrating oil but I think I'll probably end up going with the "If it ain't broke, leave it alone" approach. I'm cleaning the carbs for a guy who is buying my GL and have o-rings from Robt Barr on the way. I guess that's the only o-ring I...

    Fuel inlet needle valve seat.

I'm guessing you don't have to worry about scarring up the outer perimeter of this assembly since nothing rides there. Is this correct? I'm having a terrible time getting mine to come out and may have to get a good grip with locking plyers. I'm also going to put it in the ultrasonic a while...

    Float bowl Gasket

Opinions?? Would a float bowl gasket that is stuck to the carb body survive a few rounds in a Harbor Freight ultra sonic cleaner?

Sound of a Delkevic 4:1 - A few people asked for this

Thanks. Im on the fence about getting one. I have a perfectly good stock setup but like the 4 into 1 sound. I'm a little unsure of how the Delkevic will play with my Krauser hard bags but think there will be enough clearance.

Sound of a Delkevic 4:1 - A few people asked for this

I remember someone, maybe Deuce, saying he ran his without he baffle. Is there an option to run with or without baffle and , if so, which setup is in your video.

Buying my first GS, is it a good idea or not?

https://www.thegsresources.com/pg_srch.php A GS 650GL (with it's low seat height) would be fine for you if you want a vintage bike. Shaft-drive, low maintenance (once you get it squared away) etc. You can view one in the photo gallery of this site.

1982 GS750E Manic Issues (please help!)

Most of the rebuild kits are not so good. You should be able to reuse pretty much everything but the o-rings. The cycle-orings assortment will be what you need, If you need a few other bits, you can buy spare parts from members here or from Z-1 Enterprises ( I think they're still in business.)

    Seat for GS1100E

motorcycle seat mod gel A lot of people do something like this. Make a pocket/depression in the seat, insert a gel pad covered by a little memory foam and then cover the entire area with a thin low density foam to make the cosmetics a little better. There are a lot of EBay sellers for the...

    Lost all electrics

Bingo. I swapped my battery from the GL into the G and all is well. When the problem first appeared, the bike cranked a little bit and fired briefly before going totally dark. I would have thought there would continue to be some evidence of power such as dim lights or dragging starter with a...

    Lost all electrics

Okay, I had a few minutes to look at things before I leave the house this afternoon and realized some of my readings have been inaccurate. I removed the main fuse and tested the terminal one more time. I got 12 volts to the left side of the terminal (seat?) where the fuse inserts. I have no...

    Lost all electrics

Thanks for all the help. I will dig into this tomorrow and see where things are failing after leaving the hot solenoid post. Things are a little cluttered and I may have to move the R/R to get to the fuse box. The image above shows that area.
