All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Lost all electrics

Thanks for the replies, I've been away from the computer a while. I should have mentioned that I did use a voltmeter. I did confirm the the battery showed good voltage (12.6), putting the black lead to a good ground pt and the red to battery positive. With the same ground pt and the red lead...

    Lost all electrics

Electrical stuff just stumps me. I was cranking my 1100G which had been sitting a month (but on a tender) and the cranking abruptly stopped and I lost all lights (and other functions). 1. All fuses are good. 2. I detect no voltage at the main fuse terminal (or any other terminals) 3. The lug...

    Damn the leaves!

Sorry for your bad luck and hope you feel better relatively soon. When I had a Bandit 12 for a year or so I almost had a similar spill. The first time I rode it out my long driveway thru the woods, I tapped the front brake as it was rolling over a dew-covered root early in the morning. It was...

    Anyone in Gainesville, FL?

I'm near Gainesville. I suck when it comes to wiring and my only experience is with GS 1100 shafties. I could come by some time and look at things but I think you're probably more competent than me. Did you see the diagram for the "L" at the end of the service manual Rick linked?

1986 SUZUKI CAVALCADE info, thoughts, concerns, etc...

There is an owner's group that functions by email, rather than an actual forum. I still get emails because I recently signed back in to get some info about cade bags which I put on my LC 1500. You might be able to google it up or I could just forward an email to you and you could jump in...

    decompression valve

http://www.moccsplace.com/images/decomp/decomp.htm Don't suppose this is a similar system for that technology..... Riders of Suzuki LC 1500's find that a more powerful battery makes the decomp adjustments almost moot.

part number 49000 vs 49001, what models?

Alphasports Fiche seems to show 61311-49001-019 for the 1980 GS 1000. Years 1978 and 1979 share 61311-49000-019. You might go to the fiche and look at the pics to see if there is any significant difference.http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm?q=suzuki-bike-parts

https://www.thegsresources.com/pg_srch.php There are some photos of whole bikes in the Gallery of this site. Probably not large enough to see a lot of detail but maybe enough to get the basic layout.

    What's It Worth? 1980 GS850GT

I've got an 1100Gl that I'm thinking about putting in a crate for long-term storage to leave to my grandkids. It's a great bike that I just can't stand to let go for the paltry sum it would bring. I have 2 other bikes that get the bulk of my attention and I need more space in my man-cave. I...

    Motorcyclist in road rage shooting

Correct Last January on a bitterly cold winter's day, a North Dakota State Trooper on patrol came upon a motorcyclist who was stalled by the roadside. The biker was swathed in heavy protective clothing and wearing a full-face helmet to protect from the cold weather. What's the matter? asked...

    "Intruder-Cade"

Yeah, the added lights are probably my favorite feature. I now have 3 running lights and 3 brake lights. Also, 4 turn signals (or 2 on each side, however you count them.)
