DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

does that mean oil level is too high right now ?

    Oil Cooler for 82 GS1100G

The cam chain tensioner leaking is common, and that oil splatters everywhere. Since it's right in there with the carbs it's a prime suspect. Maybe even a leaking tacho drive, cam cover or head gasket. It will drip down, and may give the impression oil is leaking from the carbs ? I'd take a...

    Interchangeable cdi units?? Help

yes, wiring needs to be adjusted a bit to eliminate the igniter. It does use the stock manual ignition advance unit. From previous threads here it looks like you need the Dyna S DS3-2, although it's not listed as compatible on the Dyna site. You could talk to them, real nice people to deal with...

    Gs1100l

That model is not very popular. You will probably spend some dough on maintenance and maybe small repairs. You may not get your money back if you wish to sell it later on. (a GSX1100E or ES for example, is a better investment.) /commercial-sensible mode OFF That said, if you like it, it may be...

    81 GS1100G Carb Syncronization

I disagree... The reason is known : this is because of the scavenging effect caused by the balancing pipes on standard exhausts. On a GS1000 with a 4-in-1, the carbs should be synced the same height since no balance pipes/scavenging effect. Actually, the balance pipes started with the first...

Cruzin' Image Intake Boots - Are They Holding Up?

no problems here, too with the Cruzinimage boots. Been using them for many years. Like their GS1000 pistons. But have heard about some others having issues. Few and far between, might be user problems. Many people use that stuff, would think if they have quality issues the complaints would be...

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

Thank you Ken, that is indeed a good weight save and handling improvement ... didn't think it would add up so quickly. TBH i thought 50KG would be much harder to achieve without drastic surgery, but you are at 45KG already ... Learning something new here every time, thanks !

You put a LOT of thinking into this, and are up to 43 KG already .... geee .... respect Glen, i look forward to the rest of your build. 1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

Hey Glen, I would say you would need really drastic measures to reach 50KG. From your answer to Big Block i see you already started to compile a list, curious how far that will take you. My guess is you need some very radical grinding and lots of use of light tubing, aluminium, etc. Carbon...
