A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

I usually can lift mine high enough to sit on my or stool. Have to be careful with the chains, I put a moving blanket on the bike when adjusting. It's also great for doing chain maintenance for bikes with only a sidestand. I put the straps on the upper shock mounts, if possible. If not, the...

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

I just read about an injury and MC damage due to a bike falling off a hydraulic lift, the kind that you roll onto. I have had a big one given to me free, and sold it. I couldn't get up close enough to the bike. I also had a smaller one given to me that lifts by the frame, sold it too. Good luck...

This guy can sure wheelie (no GS content, it's a KTM 450 like mine)

Really enjoying my / our (share with son) '03 KTM 450 EXC. The thing has gobs of power down low, good gearing, suspension, and low hours. Runs perfectly. The older RFS motors (racing four stroke) are considered very robust. It will smoke my Norton, but that's no hotrod, just a fun cruiser...

2025 World Series - Dodgers and Blue Jays

Then there was Isoroku Yamamoto, commander of Japan's Imperial fleet in WWII. Anyway, regarding the game, that was quite the 6th inning, and I missed it, the only time I was away from the game. I figure that if one team can score 9 runs in one inning, so can the other - anything can happen in...

2025 World Series - Dodgers and Blue Jays

Yeah but that's not how it's working. I'm being subscribed to posts that I haven't even read, just got two, one about campervans for example. Something changed, and it war'nt me.

2025 World Series - Dodgers and Blue Jays

Yes, it's always been that way, but it's happening now on threads to which I haven't replied. It started recently, and I didn't change my settings. I am subscribed to three threads now that I've never commented on. Nothing I do changes it, I don't show up as subscribed (top right), then I toggle...

2025 World Series - Dodgers and Blue Jays

Seems that I get subscribed to every thread I view now, and can't unsubscribe. Weird goings on. Trying to post here and see if I can subsequently ignore myself. Go Doyers!

    Facebook marketplace gems

Yamaha Viagra! The 920 was a Virago as I recall through the mists of time. Of course, being cruiser-phobic, I sort of liked the standard, AKA XV920. The early to mid-80s were a weird time for bikes, with turbos, gold plated / midnight specials, Honda going all over the place, etc.

Fired up dormant '83 GS1100E #2, getting close

This one has been patiently awaiting the blue bodywork, which is ready to go on. I have run it before, last time with some Sta-bil in the aux tank and shut fuel off, ran it till it quit. Taking temps on the exhaust pipes, #1 and #2 were a bit cold, and it struggled to rev. I remembered that the...

Scored a free 'kegerator' - any brewers here?

Bought these in Australia in about '06. Time for the bin. Drinks a cold one... Actually, now that I think about it (in Best George Carlin's 10 Commandment skit voice), if it were fermenting in the can, 3.3 lbs of sugar woud have blown years ago. Hmm, maybe just heat. Fished it out of the bin...

Saw this on a Britbike forum, funny

Scored a free 'kegerator' - any brewers here?

Yes, I used Cooper's almost exclusively when in Oz. The price of brewing there was cheaper than the bottle shop - I remember 1/4 being my ballpark figure. What I found interesting was that the beer prices at pubs and sporting events weren't marked up three times, as they are in the US. It was...

Scored a free 'kegerator' - any brewers here?

The glass carboy still has the label on it from the early 90s. A bit 'on the nose' these days haha.

Scored a free 'kegerator' - any brewers here?

Among my many bad habits, I'm a beer lover. This setup was free, he had built it for soda for his kids - what was he thinking? Good quality parts, all there, 4 tall soda kegs (perfect), C02 and regulator, distributor, taps all nice, fridge works. Thermostat too. I'll have it looking much less...

82 Kat looks tired but price dropping, now $3,3300 SoCal (not mine)

Price has been dropping steadily. I just don't have room now. But if it goes even lower I may be tempted. I had an '82, it was a super nice bike when I finished it. What a torture rack, even with nice rebuilt Fox shocks replacing the stock ones, which I remember were panned by the press. The...

    Decoding part number

Could be a PN change perhaps, or a typo. Anway the 13 of them on eBay match your # and look right. I actually used the Partzilla number in the search and they appeared, maybe a 'close enough' search logic going on.

82 Kat looks tired but price dropping, now $3,3300 SoCal (not mine)

This caught my eye. Tempted, looks sun-worn and has back fees so it's more like $4,100 now. I can't swing that but maybe it keeps dropping, who knows. The 82 1000 is the one to have IMO. Seller seems legit, posting good details...

    Decoding part number

The number on Partzilla (#3) is dyslexically different, 59668-33620 vs 686. Looking that up on eBay I see it's available for $8 here (and many others for around $10): https://ebay.us/m/NJHuGM Maybe snag it?

    Ebay returns

All you need at the PO is the return QR; it carries all the needed info. The original label was for delivery, so I don't think it would add anything. It should be fine with just that QR.

    Ebay returns

They scan the QR and print a label. That magic square carries all the info. Hopefully, this is what you're asking - you got that QR code from the seller with confirmation that the return's accepted, right?
