All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It’s a bit better... :) Seriously, for everyone who didn’t see the “before” state, this is an astonishing transformation.

Lube the brake lever pivot. I'll give you can to six pack odds that that fixes it. :)

2020 MotoGP - The Official Thread (Warning!! Spoilers!!!)

Tire management has been an integral part of racing for a very long time, I wouldn't call it artificial. It has been more of an issue since Michelin took over, the Bridgestones dropped off less towards the end of a race. But before that, when tires were open, it was a big deal.

2020 MotoGP - The Official Thread (Warning!! Spoilers!!!)

Agree on Marquez, he'd be running away with it if he was healthy. He's the best I've seen, and I've been watching since '78. Disagree on Rossi. He's still clearly competitive, if not the dominant talent he once was. And I really disagree on the miking the money cow angle. He's got more, way...

    I had a crash...a big one!

Damn Trevor, that really sucks. Hope things heal up quick. If you have allergies, make sure you take whatever meds that work for you. Sneezing with broken ribs really hurts, especially if it sneaks up on you.

Fork oil filling tips 83 650gl

Yep, and I've had many of those learning opportunities over the years. I'd like to think that I'm smarter now, but not sure the evidence really supports that theory. :)

Fork oil filling tips 83 650gl

You need to remove the forks from the bike to do the job right. It's not hard, and actually takes no more time than the "shortcut" method. Half-assed methods lead to half-assed results. :)

Finding a Weaker Carb Return Spring

And the big advantage of that system is that if you close the throttle the full force of the stock spring is pushing the slide down, unlike if you fit a weaker return spring to the carb.

Finding a Weaker Carb Return Spring

Back in the dim times, before CV carbs became ubiquitous, I’d see an ad in the back of every bike mag for a device called Twist-Assist, or something close to that. Might be worth searching eBay or other vintage bike forums for one.

Milling the head for more compression?

I'm not quite old enough to have worked on Model A's, so I'll take your word for it. :)

Milling the head for more compression?

Yep, you're wrong. :) Given the ratios, I'm pretty sure "a point" is a full number. ~10% increase in compression -> 2-3% increase in power. Sounds about right.

Labor day ride with my son.

Very nice, and sure makes me miss NM. Been all through those roads at one time or another, and have taken a lot of pics from that exact overlook. :) Glad you and your son got to do that, sounds like a great time.
