DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Play in Advance Governor

Yes youll get a little play if turning crank nut counterclockwise. Its the chain tensioner rod having the play not the governor. You should never turn crank counterclockwise though. Only clockwise rotation. Only thing to look at with the governor is play in the flyweight springs. I have had to...

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

We can all pontificate till hell freezes over but the issue will require breaking it down and finding whats going on. When you pull the head and flip it over youll see what valves are wet with oil and the piston will be oily.

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

Suppose a cracked valve guide could also leak a lot of oil into the exhaust area.

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

If 3 plug is oil fouled then it will fail. By dripping fast that makes me also think of the dreaded exhaust bolt piercing the oil galley. Ive heard that too long of a bolt can break the head casing and allow oil to escape the oil galley and run out down the bolt. I personally would skip all the...

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

In theory yes rings are possible. Oil bypassing rings brings blue smoke. Theoretically its possible the exhaust gaskets could have a very slight leak, just enough to let some oil weep past the gasket and drip on the outside of the head and pipes. Either way i would do a full top end refresh...

Tire Mounting/Balancing Service... Thoughts and Opinions.

Just got home on my 83 KZ750 with beads in both tires. Put in solid 5 hours of riding today. Rolling 85 MPH down I35 without issue. Just relaying my experience too. Could be they installed the wrong amount of eads in some cases. Either way not arguing or defending. I put in what the application...

Tire Mounting/Balancing Service... Thoughts and Opinions.

I dont know what 100+ MPH translates to KPM but ive had every bike ive owned in the last 15 years of using beads over 100 MPH with not one issue or side effect. This so called vibration could be from many other sources than the beads.. Bad mouth them all you want but if your front end...

    idle adjustment: 79 850g

Only reason to touch the tensioner knob is to test drive rod operation. By EVER SO SLIGHTY turning counter clockwise when running you should feel the rod pulse a bit. You can use the 80 manual here for many of the maintenance operations including the tensioner is properly adjusted...

Tire Mounting/Balancing Service... Thoughts and Opinions.

Norm.. Look into just using DYNABEADS and do away with weights and save your money on a balancer. Ive used them forever and your NEVER out of balance and youll get longer tread wear too.
