DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

A KZ750 airbox does fit the GPz. EPA connections match up also.

    Looking good! New GSX 8tt

I'm thinking those weird extended plate holders are there because that location is mandated by law. All new bikes have a weird plate holder design.

    Looking good! New GSX 8tt

Kawasaki does have a very cool retro ZR650RS also, much more affordable @ $8,899. With the savings, you can buy the best bar end mirrors and windscreen.

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

I'm still waiting for a Haynes manual. Book store sent it media mail, a euphemism for shipped via ox cart. I am finding very good utube videos for specific procedures.

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

Super bummer, the starter clutch is not working so good, only catches sometimes. I rebuilt the carbs with stock needles and main jets. Got the bike started and carbs synced. Generating electricity, 13.7v at idle. Replacing a GS starter clutch is ez compared to a Kawasaki. Suzuki GS starter...

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

It does look like the PO installed a dynojet kit, but not sure. The needles are slotted for adjustment. I bought a 1982 KZ750 airbox. I'll bet the frames are the same, the box may fit or be close enough to modify to fit. The shape looks the same with different attachment points for hose and...

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

Hey I have done some surfing for info on KZ Rider, but they haven't accepted my application yet. This GPz I bought has pod filters, with 185 main jets and an unfinished job leaving the EPA system half connected. On KZ Rider I found a post about pods with one responder including a 1983 Cycle...

Mouse tomb… Found the remains of 2 here, plus another one carbonized under the battery. Used the garden hose to wash away the Harkonnen stench.

That long production history of the GPz engine reminds me of the air/oil cooled GSXR engine.

Not riding it yet, but learning some about it. It is long and slim with low mounted pegs, good wind protection. It's a sport tourer maybe one of the first. Wayne Rainey won the 1983 AMA SuperBike Chanpionship with a GPz750 built by Rob Muzzy. Here's a link to a Cycle World Test article

Only 11,766 miles, looks well cared for, no sign of rain or sun damage. Not the turbo model. Looking it over for missing parts; has pod filters, top of battery box is missing. Supertrapp aluminum slip on.

Is there such a thing as a cheap Beemer?

I spoke to a close friend of mine, about me fixing up his R90/6 airhead as a winter project. I'm board so I'll pick it up in a couple weeks. I did read up on them, the pre 1981 bikes have a heavy flywheel, so that slows the pickup. Single 260mm brake disc with a single piston caliper is way too...
