A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Trip to Ashville North Carolina

You come down, let me know. I have some roads I can show you. I'm over in Polk County by the SC line. Plenty of good roads heading over to Hendersonville. I work at a hospital in Hendersonville and most hospitals are taking down the outside screening tents. Elective surgeries start Monday so we...

Was somebody looking for a KZ1000?

    If I could only find a 1982 KZ1000 J. I would move a mountain for that.

Is that little dive bar still at the intersection of 60 in Yeehaw? Use to be a stop and turn around on our speed runs from Holopaw. Born and raised in Melbourne.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Took the only Suzuki I have out. The DR. But worth the work. Dug her out of the barn and took her for a short ride. Come on spring. About a total of 91" this year, about ready for some mud

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Not on GS but on a Suzuki anyways. 39 and sunny so I took the DR out. Great ride just forgot about getting back up the drive. Ice under the snow. Had to air down the rear and get a running start. Oh well, fun anyhow.

See you got out Justin before the storm moves in. Expecting 6-10" for us. Probably have to wait until next Saturday to pull one of the bikes out. Is that thestore with the cow on the roof? Always loved that.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Justin, for the low $ tach, you can go the fleabay route. Like around $5 and wraps around the plug wire. Have it on the DR and it's good enough to set the idle. Took Connie out for about 20 miles today, just to try out my Hippo Hands. They make a big difference in the blocking of wind...

    Good dual-sport bike.

I picked up my '11 DR 650 last year with 58 miles, now a little over a year later, i'm approaching 5400. All trouble free and major smile miles. Never gotten me stuck in the deep stuff I've gone through. For 2-up, it's doable, just not for me. The accesories, farkles and support of fellow DR...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Still can't get Connie out of the barn. Not from lack of wanting but too much snow. The DR will jump out all day but have to be above freezing for me. Way too much ice on my "gravel" drive. Doesn't look like you got much snow or it's all gone. Quite the change from when we lived in Pittsford in...

Steve, looks like just the thing to bring to Vermont this fall. I'll trade rides on the DR.

    Colebrook 2014 ?

Did I sleep thru all of the spring and miss Colebrook? I couldn't make the Catskills due to call week but would love to do the 'brook again. Didn't get enough miles in last year and aiming to remedy that this year.

    my winter DT400 project

Used a homemade mix. Epsom salt, vinegar, zinc anodes, and Karo corn syrup. It's a set up I got from the yamaha enduro forum. Here is a link to a website with the info. http://home.comcast.net/~rt66tbird/website/zincplating.html It's fun and it works out being cheaper than the ones you can buy and...

    my winter DT400 project

Got into DIY zinc plating and it seems to work out great for this project. So far, here are results Before: After: I know it has a gold tinge, just the lighting, they do polish out to an almost chrome look. Not going for concours but IMHO looks good:clap:

    my winter DT400 project

Not really too much work. Only about 4 cans of spray. In the end,it will only be about $600 in parts. Purchase price of $400 so for $1000 altogether, I'll have a new bike. My first bike was a 77 DT250, so there is a little sentiment here.
