1980 Suzuki GS1000E
Owner: Craig Leiper
A Note From The Owner...
Hope you like this recent photo of big red during an unusually sunny July day in Scotland!
This is the first time that it has ran properly since its 'Mad Sunday' blast round the mountain section of the Isle of Mann TT races in 2007.
During that foggy mountain section the 37000 mile piston oil scraper rings stopped working and we turned the fog into smog.
She made it home and after a few years on the ramp it is back better than ever.
The alloy casings, forks etc are all mirror polished, but with the poor weather we get here in Aberdeen I always cover them in WD40 afterwards to stop the elements from rotting them.
Polished stainless steel 4-1.
All black steel work powder coated.
Dyna coils and ignition.
Goodrich s/s front brake hoses.
Oxford heated grips.
Linked air forks and shocks.
Paint work and seat stripped and restored to original.
Tank lined with POR 15.
Classic insurance policy, agreed valuation 5000 Euro.
Still putting a smile on my face after 31 years.
