A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

DIY baffle and tip for my GS1000G 4 into 1 exhaust

It is the original shocks. When I bought my bike, the PO told me I could drive it home. (120km trip) When I arrived home, I checked the airbox and there was no filter. Only sand in the box. Also only 1l of oil in the engine. Part of it is my own fault but it seems "PO's" just does not care...

DIY baffle and tip for my GS1000G 4 into 1 exhaust

Hi guys I decided to remove my exhaust and had a look at the baffle cause the bike is to loud. I discovered there was no packing around the old baffle and that the exhaust was shorten. It was made into a straight pipe. I made a new baffle and tip.

Dipped it in acetone for a night and used compressed air on all the passages. There is no real carb dip available here.

I cleaned the pilot circuit and tried to set the idle. It ended up being perfect at 5 turns out. Can I leave it there or do I have to go up 1 size on the pilot jets?

Runs great but dies immediately at idle.

60ratrod, I bench sync'd the carbs. I dont have a vacuum sync. I tried to be exact with the bench sync. Measuring the gaps to a T. Pilot screws looks good still.

It must be clogged. Will clean them with carb cleaner and compressed air tomorrow. Will just removing the pilot screw and pilot jet be enough to spray the carb cleaner in or do I need to take it apart?

Runs great but dies immediately at idle.

Yes it will idle at about 2000rpm if I set it there but will hang then. It runs good when I use the throttle. Only dies when it has to idle.(closed throttle)
