DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

DIY baffle and tip for my GS1000G 4 into 1 exhaust

Hi guys

I decided to remove my exhaust and had a look at the baffle cause the bike is to loud. I discovered there was no packing around the old baffle and that the exhaust was shorten. It was made into a straight pipe.

I made a new baffle and tip. 20151002_073941.jpg

Very nicely done. It looks the job.
Baffle screwed/bolted on the tip?
How is the sound?

Thanks. It is welded on with a CO2 welder.
It is very quiet. Almost to quiet. A deep sound.

Very nice bike. All original?

Terminals are Sito aftermarket units; as are the blinkers, which have a round stem instead of the square one. Do not know if this model year/month is supposed to have or round rectangular turn signals.
The headlamp is an 8'' unit with aftermarket reflector which really shines a light.
Headlamp ears are from a 650GS (from a "negligent" seller).
Fork trimming (the lower triple cover) is missing.
But, we'll get there.
How about yours?

Mirrors I think is wrong. Is yours original?
Need the front crash bars.
Exhaust is 4 into 1. Would love to have the original 4 into 2.
The seat cover is not original.
Is the paint original?

Is the paint original?

Paint is original; it is a candy job in orange with metal gold pigments;
Mirrors have the correct pattern but not enough chrome pit...
Yeah, I think 4 into 2 is better.

See, I only bought this bike lately, and it has had a number of PO's which did not left much behind, in terms of service history.

Which shocks are you using?
Thanks

It is the original shocks.
When I bought my bike, the PO told me I could drive it home. (120km trip) When I arrived home, I checked the airbox and there was no filter. Only sand in the box. Also only 1l of oil in the engine.
Part of it is my own fault but it seems "PO's" just does not care about maintenance.
