    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Same technique here,Fingers and popsicle sticks work the best unless you have good band compressors and a smooth champher on the bottoms of the cylinders..And 2-3 helping hands lol.Rings break easier then you might think, twisted ,ect...

    Sounds good... Won't forget it... I glued a 1260 cyl. block down one time with aviation sealer (glue),We worked a few hrs. getting it off to re-ring it lol. Never again.. But older bikes it's usually the dowel pins or studs..Patience...Combined with good advise like others have noted...

    I went as far as replacing pistons and rings on a 1000 that kept pushing out the rubber cam plugs and valve cover gaskets..Still did it...I finally attached a K&N filter to the breather hose off the valve cover.Improved it dramatically.

    High rev cut out under load.

    In the past I have had several GS1100"s act like that.Even though this may not apply to your model.But I soldered the connections at the coils ,even if they felt tight cured it back then.Also do you have points ? if so inspect, clean,and check timing..

    lost cylinders 1/4 while on the interstate

    Remove tach assembly. Remove spark plugs,Reverse the primary wires from #1 #4 coil and reinstall on #2 #3 see if it kills them.If so trace all the wires if ok probably need a new Dyna S assembly..Possibly...Seen them fail in the past.Some last like forever and some don't.

    If I understood...You said #1 and #2 cylinders the plugs look good #3 and #4 looked dark and a little sooty.I would check the Sync.of the carbs. Kinda sounds like it's running on the right 2 cylinders a little more at idle... Possibly...And your right #1 and #4 run cooler then #2 and #3..Most...

    Can anyone tell my why does most of the O.E.M. pistons from Japan have ART cast into the underside of them????? And I have seen it a lot. Asked the question in the past and could not really get a definite answer from people in the industry for years.Still wondering.....

    Excellent Advise.Any gasket material Needs to be done with caution.Just gasket no aluminum ..Avoid any kind of high speed gskt.removal discs for cast iron or steel... 3M bristle type,The green /plastic/polymers,ect.Seem to do well with caution (Watch) what you are doing.I have used many of kind...
