A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What Hard bags will fit a 78 GS1000

Krauser... They'll fit just about anything with twin shocks... One of mine came from a 80 GS1100E and the other from a GS850. I understand Samsonite and KG Engineering made good stuff too, but I have no experience with those.

Signed up today Hello Everyone! Sexy GS650E inside.

I too have been passing over the "sexy" post...glad I stopped this time. I was looking at a new '82 650 in that color when I chose a left over '81 750 instead. It looks very nice. And...I like the Rabid Transit. Are those Don Vesco handlebars? He sold a couple of styles, one like that IIRC...

    Hydraulic front brake switch...new issue

Yup...that's how mine is (stainless braided lines). Took a quick spin this afternoon on my local twisty road and the front brakes are just dandy. I'm thinking I need a replacement switch ...

    Hydraulic front brake switch...new issue

I installed hydraulic brake light switches on both GS's over the last couple of years. So, far I've been happy with the results. During a check of the E model I discovered that the lever requires a LOT of force before the brake light is triggered. In normal operation it would never trigger...

    1981 GS750E battery info needed.

Didn't mean to be short but I was posting from my iPhone. The thing is, it appears the same battery is spec'd for several bikes in your stable. Pull one of those and see what works....

    Hiya, just got a 83 gs750t

Look on the headstock....if the label is still there, the model year will be stamped behind the model name i.e. GS750T "?"...like Tank says; D for 1983, Z for 1982. Tank is also right about the black engine..only in 1983. It looks silver to me on one side :o 1982 "should" have a chrome chain...

    Hiya, just got a 83 gs750t

Yep, that picture is a 1983 alright...notice the different paint scheme, the blacked out engine, etc. It is what it is, you decide dude....good luck with your refurbishment.

    Hiya, just got a 83 gs750t

Welcome Ennuii... What you have there is a 1982 Suzuki GS750TZ. See my signature and there are a few pics in my folder here too. These are certainly bikes worthy of attention. 1982 and 83 only so tanks, seats and such are hard to come by if you need them but its the same basic engine as...

    Babbit's Online - TERRIBLE experience.

Too bad you had trouble. Assuming you ordered with a credit card...stop payment. I've been lucky enough to get exactly what I ordered every time for all three of my bikes. I have a list I'm about to order (several hundreds of dollars) with a credit card. Hope this doesn't jinx my order...

    Rear Brake Lockup

After rebuilding the front caliper and master cylinder on my '81, I experienced periodic lockup until I replaced the brake lines. I believe that trash from internal deterioration/contamination was fouling the relief port in the master cylinder.

    530 vs 630

Ditto... PLUS: I converted my '81 750 last year from a 630 and a NYLON rear sprocket that I had installed in the early 80's. The new 530 on steel sprockets was QUIETER :D. Now I'm hearing noises I never new the bike was making before .

Brake lever not activating the brake light

+2 on the hydraulic switch. I've installed these on both of my GSs now. I wish I had done it on my E-model decades ago

Those with air valves in the fork tubes

You also need a low pressure air gauge. I think mine is 0-20 psi...I've had it forever. I've installed Progressive brand springs in my E-model's forks so no air anymore. I'm still running the original springs in my T model's forks and I shoot for 7-10 psi. Prepare for a lot of aggravation...
