If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

I looked at a 1980 GS450 yesterday and the bikes in really good shape but the motor, while it starts, has horrible screaching and knocking sounds coming out of it. I figure a rebuild is prolly not the easiest solution here. What motor choices do I have for a direct bolt up do I have besides...

First ride in over 27 years!

A 425 was my first GS and what started the madness. Mine wasn't an L and I wish I had it back. That bike isn't slow by any means. I think the motor was supposed to make about 38-40 horsepower. Pretty decent ride as well. I remember the fact that it was light made it seem like a rocket...

    Longer shocks for a Shaftie

What is the stock height asks the person who is too lazy to look that fact up himself?? I lowered my forks in the clamps just to see what happened as well. I wasn't impressed. I did, however, notice a difference when I put a new Shinko 712 on the front. Seems to turn in very nicely.

    Rear brake pedal adjustment anyone?

Basscliff, I guess I deserve that. I'm a little embarrased! I didn't realize that rear pedal was adjustable for height. I went to my manual and looked at the removal pics and wouln't you know--an adjustment screw. I've had the bike for 2 years now and an 850 for 2-3 years before...

I have a question for someone smarter than I in the area of battery chargers. the reason for my question is that a friend gave my kid a Razor brand electric scooter. it didn't come with a charger. It runs 2-12v batteries wired in a series for 24 volts. It has a charging connection on the...

Omni-Pak paint: any opinions or info?

I am not an expert by any means but I agree with the thought of spraying and letting the parts cure then going for the clear. I would bet the cured base coat would not lift if left to cure properly. You would at least see if the base coat is what you want. From what I've heard, not...

not your typical clear coat question???

I haven't heard anything real positive about the paintshop series. Everything I read said that laquer has to be cut and buffed to look like anything after it has been sprayed. Any truth to this???
