A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    79 GS1000 turbo, anyone w/experience?

Unfortunately I can't say much about the turbo because IHI doesn't provide much specifications for their turbos. But I have a feeling that RHB5 series could be at right ballpark :) If you can provide some additional details about the turbo we might be able to give estimation about it's...

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

Very much possible. I have to play with cable adjustment and see if I can make it any better. Thanks for tip.

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

Thanks for compliments! And one more photo from summer to help your decision. Mine and Blower's bikes in a portrait: :D When I installed the lock-up I replaced HD springs with old stock springs. That's why it's lighter to use. But I don't understand either why it doesn't disengage properly...

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

The summer is turning to fall here. Bike has been working just fine, I have done about 5000 km on it. Though now it seems that the engine will need some attention during next winter. It has started to consume oil and when I did compression test one cylinder gave clearly lower readings than...

Explanation needed on front disc rotation please?

My guess is that usually that direction marking is just because of drilling pattern on the disk. If the pattern isn't symmetrical then the patterns will face different directions if you use two same hand disks. I doubt that will have any effect on braking.

    Frame/Swingarm stiffening for the GS750

I don't have a GS750 but there are some frame stiffening pictures on my GS1100 project thread: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=101698 On second page. These are basically the same modifications that are described on oldskoolsuzuki.info. With front end upgrade change was...

    Battery eliminator? capacitor?

At first, I guess that your bike has a kickstart? Anyway, I doubt that you can get the engine started without a battery. Most likely the generator doesn't produce enough current for ignition before it spins at normal idle speed.

    550 turbo?

That's right attitude! Good luck for the project. And remember to report about the result.

78 GS550FI (Fuel Injected).. carb rebuild turned EFI Conversion

I guess that the GPZ throttle bodies are almost only option with correct spacing. TBs from a gixxer and other modern bikes will always need re-spacing. The GPZ bodies are also most likely quite well sized for your bike. Modern ones tend to be slightly larger, typically 38-42mm. This isn't as...

78 GS550FI (Fuel Injected).. carb rebuild turned EFI Conversion

You can try to add a t-branch on hose between the tank and intake side of the pump and connect return to it. I used this solution for couple of years without any problems.

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

On the road again! Spring finally arrived here few weeks ago and since that I have been testing and tuning the bike. Now tuning is in pretty good order and I can tell some impressions about results of all this work. First of all, the bike handles really nice now. It feels stable under hard...

    GSX-1100g a "detuned" GSXR-1100?

Well, I don't know much about G but let's make a guess based on other "detuned" Suzuki engines. For example engine on the Bandit is very close to the older Gixxer engines and it outputs about 100 hp. There are several differences between these engines what explains lower power of the Babdit. For...

best option of rear shock for gs1150

I don't know about the best buy but Wilbers (Germany) is also one very good option. I think their quality is on the same level with Ohlins but prices are more reasonable. http://www.wilbers.de/2008/englisch/html/motorraeder.htm

And then back to the original topic. Ready and waiting for the spring! Allright, actually it's not completely ready yet. There is still something little to tinker while waiting. But all major things seem to be ready now.

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

Most likely we are talking about the same bike. As far as I know it's assembled by Orient Express. Here is one dyno picture from my hard disk:

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

I guess that he will rebuild it sooner or later. Finding parts shouldn't be a problem. I guess that he temporarily lost interest on it. And money is always some kind issue for us ordinary mortals when playing with these toys. Drag racing isn't too big business around here...

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

Well, I don't know exact details of history of this bike. As far as I know it's imported from US to Finland at late 80's by my friend and he raced it actively till beginning of 90's. Last time it was on the track couple of years ago when it broke the crank and it's been on hold since that.

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

I did a quick search and managed to find one picture of that bike from the web. I should have some pics about the bike on the dyno somewhere on my hard disk. I will check later. It's 1327cc engine, two stage nitrous, 3 speed auto transmission, Kosman frame and so on. Sounds very much like...

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

Currently I'm using Mallory 4060FI. It draws about 4 amps and charging system is still able to provide enough power for it and other gadgets. But it's already on the edge, if switch on the grip heaters (about 2.5 amps) it needs at least 4k rpms to keep charging voltage up. So there is enough...

    GS(X)1100E turbo EFI

I know that those big turbos need plenty of spanking to wake up, especially older designs like Rajays. A friend of mine has old Funny Bike (actually I think it's Terry Kizer's ex-bike) with some big Rajay. Once I was with him when trying to tune the bike in dyno. One of problems was that...
