A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Time for a Mini Volt Meter?GDMFr!!!

No problems so far. I have noticed my headlight drops a little when I apply the brake, which led me to get the volt meter. But I’ll get the multimeter out and test the volts at the battery poles. Maybe my Chinese socket charger or the accessory connection at the fuse box is off. Is it...

Time for a Mini Volt Meter?GDMFr!!!

Today I wired up a socket charger to my 1982 GS650G, from handbar to auxiliary fuse box port and then inserted my recently bought plug in combo USB charger and volt meter. I bought this setup to I can monitor my volts on the move, and charge my cell phone. So far so good, 12.5 - 12.8 V in...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I?m between jobs so thought I?d take a 300 km round trip from Toronto to Sunderland, Ontario. I?d never been there, but looked at the map and thought it would make for some good riding, and the cafe looked nice. I was not disappointed, as the roads were twisty and the coffee good. The River...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Thanks. As a prior decade-long owner of a 1969 Triumph twin I?m used to public interest in my bike, but I was surprised by the interest in my GS. Two folks said they didn?t know that Suzuki made a GS650 with a shaft drive, to which I say that?s the primary reason I like it, plus the electric...

    Hagon Bushings...Where To Buy?

Over winter I installed new stainless steel Hagons without adjustable damping, and I must say I love them. On my original GS650G shocks I never touched the damping, set it to #4 and left it be. On the Hagons the manufacturer builds in the damping rate to your weight. So I got dressed up in...

    Igniter box

My 1982 GS650G left me stranded once. Had it towed to my mechanic, who feared the worst, that the igniter had died. But turned out the wire connector had simply come loose. I didn’t know where to look, but I do now. Anyway, my mechanic removed, cleaned, greased and reconnected all the...

Best speed/rpm for fuel economy? GS850

Mine does it too. Here’s in idle. This was after a full valve clearance and cam chain tension adjustment at the local shop. They told me just to ignore the noise. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9uSHhBYxd20 It’s worse on centre stand, idling in high gear until you pull in the clutch...
