DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Engine "Badge"

This came off last night (left engine side). 99% sure I'll get a new one, but what's the proper method for gluing it back on?

There are several different adherents on the back.

New ones come with a peel back 3M adhesive.

I've heard good things and have used it in the past for several projects, a thin foam-like tape. It's a great adhesive as opposed an adherent whom would practice a particular discipline.

Thanks, guys. I parked her too close to her sister (Sporty), who feeling neglected, gave her a tiny nick, and off comes the badge.

I guess the only way to reassure Sporty is to ride her, but it's been more than 2 and a half years since I rode Suzi, and with the rebuilt carbs and performance headers, it's hard not to go out and play king of the road.

I was cruising Suzi at 70 mph feeling kind of mellow, like this is not so different than the Harley. Then I noticed I had more than half the tach left, plus one more gear.

Sometimes I feel like Jykell and Hyde on these bikes.

Guys, I just looked up the engine badge. Part numbers are 68-233-49500 weather it's for "Z" ('82), or "D" ('83). Price is $15.50.

Both say "SUZUKI" with "TSCC", as they should. My question is this: Why does the one that came off my '82 disguised as an '83 just say, "SUZUKI," with no mention of the Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers?

Two more questions:

If I order the "E" model, do you think it will come in black?

If not, (I'm guessing they both come bare), what would be the proper black? I think I have a rattle can of black semi-gloss, which worked beautifully on the clutch cover.

Don’t order anything that doesn’t show a photo of exactly what you’re getting. I ordered engine emblems from Babbitts online and quoted the correct part # but they do not show the pics of what they sell. So, the badges arrive and they’re wrong for my model GS650G, showing DOHC logo instead of plain “Suzuki”. When I complained they said what they sent matches the part # I provided (which I got from the parts schematics on their website). I returned them for a refund, less shipping cost, and bought the correct ones on eBay.

I can’t stress this enough. If the seller will not show you a photo of what you’re buying don’t buy it!

The color schemes for the badges changed a few times over the years. Since the oldest versions are not being produced any more, only the newer ones are available. I guess it all depends on whether you HAVE to have that original silver on black badge because you are entering the bike in a Concours event. If not, some of us have found that the newer versions actually look a bit better, but it does help if both sides match.
