A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 1982 Katana 1100 restoration COMPLETE!

Looks like brand new from here mate, amazing restoration. NICE! How did you manage to match the seat strap to the new seat color? I read you went to an upholstery dye expert and I assume the dark seat is the new OEM so does that mean you had to match the strap to that? Be really interested to...

spark plug wires and caps replacement

I've replaced HT wire in the stock coils on my 850, easy to do if you're patient enough. The caps you list in your OP are the correct ones IF you use standard HT wire i.e. NOT suppression wire. They have internal suppression resistors in them (5k if memory serves) and you don't need both. I...

    79 GS1000L carb to carb fuel lines/connectors

Are they broken/perished/ripped or just dry. Those connectors leak if they've not been used in a while like when rebuilding carbs. If they are dry they will swell again when they've been in contact with gas again. When I refit them after a rebuild I prime the system ready for them to leak but...

I believe they have multiple, 300v 750v and 1000v rings a bell. You should test using an appropriate level for the insulate you're testing so you don't fry it during the test.

    Anyone used Cycleplicity?

Been looking around for a few parts and lately Cycleplicity keeps coming up top of the list and certainly cheapest for the actual parts anyway, shipping is another matter though. Did a search and got nothing... Anyone ever used them to know what they're like to deal with?

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Yep. Screen is aftermarket, the stock one is on the shelf in my garage. It's a light smoke version I picked up last trip back to England, paid about 40 quid for it I think. Even though it's a little taller, it's narrower too so the black trim is too long to fit on it. I quite like it though...
