A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

You have found some new lowers that will allow you to install a fender? I'm not aware of anyone installing emulators but I personally don't think they would be worth the investment. I'm running the origninal springs in my forks with 15 weight fork oil. I'm running Hagon shocks right now and...

    82 gs750e seat swap?

GS750EZ Seat GS750EZ Seat Yes, a 1980-81 GS750E seat will fit a 1982 GS750E. Also, a 1980-81 GS1100E will work. The trim, hand strap, grab rails, etc may be different but the pan, hardware, cushion, and cover (I think) are the same.

    Starter o-ring leak suspected

Yes it does. And unless you have a really good source for O-rings, I recommend you order the OEM piece. I tried a handful of "this-ought-to-be-close-enough" parts I found locally that only caused frustration...too big to fit back in the hole or too loose to seal. :o

Tank liner whos not using it?

I don't have tank linings and I don't run in-line filters (I know you didn't ask...jus' sayin'). I'm the original owner of an 81 750E and even though it sat neglected for years at a time :o shows no sign of rusting. However, I have two tanks for my 1982 750T tinker-toy commuter that I picked...

    Don Vesco Rabid Transit

Thanks for the comment. The RT will fit a wide variety of bikes though probably not as many as the Vetter. I believe the upper fairing would fit anything but the lowers may not. I understand that the RT, Windjammer, and the Hannigan, all use a similar mount. Yes, the bags are Krausers. Got any...

    Seperating fork uppers from lowers

My experience on my 81 and 82...YMMV. 1. Upper Retainer clip out, check 2. Damper Bolt out, check (yes, the impact wrench avoids much drama) 3. Mount Lower section in Vise (with cushioning :)) 4. Grasp the upper section firmly with both hands 5. Make sure there is nothing of value behind you...

    Don Vesco Rabid Transit

The fairing blocks the wind very well but your head is above the windshield. I've never ridden behind a Vetter but I suspect the RT provides less coverage. It doesn't block as much as the big bar mounted units like Plexifairing but its way more stable, especially at highway speeds. I've not...

I'm still leaning toward VERY BLACK, maybe with a discrete pin stripe to offset it ...though I really like the bike's OEM color. I've got another set of tins I can have painted at the same time. Here's a shot of it after mounting a set of Krauser's I had on the 750E. Anybody got an...

    Left Side Hand Grip Removal?

Removing Grips Removing Grips A hunnert years ago a motocross wrench told me they used WD40 for getting them off AND for puttng them on.... and that's all I've ever done since (never ever purchased any grip glue). Use the straw to shoot a little under the grip...twist...repeat. This works on...

Hagon Shocks Hagon Shocks The Hagons are fine. I had Progressive brand shocks on it until I decided to replace the OEM shocks on my '81 750E. I moved the Progressives to the '81 and installed the Hagons on the '82 750T. I'm at about 180 lbs :( and they were a tad stiff at first but have...

    Getting a GS 1000 S to handle

Well I don't know much about the 1000's...BUT if I was fortunate enough to have two so similar (GS 1000 EC,GS 1000 ST) I'd be swapping that fairing over to the '78 model just for grins and giggles :-k. That might just clear the fairing of any wrong-doing if the behaviour doesn't move with it...

and Steering Stops and Steering Stops For those who may be interested. To keep from mashing digits and accidentally applying the from brake in the middle of a left-hand low-speed maneuver , steering stops are required. I drilled, tapped, and installed a 5MM X 10MM socket head cap screw...

I've never seen one on eBay. I HAVE seen them on other forums like ADV and a lot of old beemers had them. Hannigans are pretty rare too. Good luck and be patient.

I was lucky enough to receive the 6-pin factory pigtail with mine :D. I still had to break out the volt/ohmeter though since I didn't have instuctions. It was a little frustrating until I realized that the second filament in the turn signals were not hooked up (so no running lights which is okay...

Thanks for the response Crazydave. I had never heard of Suburban. Those would work I bet, but at over $170  I will have to pass on new ones. I wonder how hard it would be to find used ones. One of the reasons I ride these old bikes is that I'm CHEAP :o.

    Don Vesco Rabid Transit

I'm fritzin' around with a Rabid Transit frame-mount fairing I picked up from a member here (thanks a heap Frankenzuki). It was previously mounted on a 1980 GS1100E so I was pretty confident it could go on either of my bikes. Here's what it looked like after its first fitting on my T model...

    1982 GS750T question?

16v 750s 16v 750s While NEARLY everything is the same... the valve covers changed in 1982. It has 24 bolts instead of 20 which the earlier models have (don't hold me to the count, it's still early on a Sunday morning). I have one of each and have to be careful which gasket I grab off the...
